Almost every year at least once or twice I write this piece. Have been doing it since 2020 when Apple introduced the new M series chipsets in MacBooks, as well as transformed the MacBook Air from a budget laptop with not-so-good screen into a versatile machine with top hardware. Since then whenever people have asked me whether they should get the MacBook or a Windows laptop, my answer has been the same — get a Mac.

But this is an evergreen question. And I keep getting it every few weeks from this quarter or that corner. For example, for the last few weeks, I have been getting this question from my brother who runs an HR consultancy firm in Dubai. Throughout his working life across multiple corporations, he has used a Windows laptop. Just like millions of other people who are part of companies where a Windows laptop is a standard issue. Now, he needs a new machine.
