Quebec Sen. Amina Gerba travelled to Vancouver with her husband for two 20-hour English courses at a total cost of nearly $22,000 β trips that several parliamentarians say raise ethical questions.
The trips in July 2023 and 2024, which fell within the rules of Senate travel, were reimbursed. Gerba and her husband took the courses at CollΓ¨ge Γducacentre, their tuition costing $1,521 each time.
Travel expenses β including hotel, business-class airfare and daily allowances for the six-day trips β cost taxpayers $9,064.30 in the first year and $9,790.25 in the second.
Gerba, who represents the Rigaud division in Quebec, was not available for an interview.
