Scrolling, scrolling, some more scrolling, and just like that hours vanish into thin air one reel at a time. Boredom or not, doomscrolling has creeped into our lives. It’s an addiction that not just Gen Z or millennials, but even Gen X, have fallen for. The phenomenon has long been dissected, debated, and (almost) accepted.

Yes, it’s bad. Yes, it affects mental health. And yes, we have made uneasy peace with it. Some people have turned it into a profession too. But wait up. The internet, as always, has a plot twist, and it’s called bloomscrolling, supposedly the antidote to doomscrolling.

It’s not about flowers, but it’s being hyped as the feel-good way to cope with the brain rot one experiences online.
