The Jharkhand BJP has called for a 12-hour band (shutdown) on Wednesday, in West Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan districts to protest against the alleged police lathi-charge on tribal demonstrators in Chaibasa town on Monday. The party termed the police action as "barbaric and anti-people" as ordered by the Hemant Soren-led government.
