The Delhi governmentโs ambitious cloud seeding experiment to trigger artificial rain and wash away the capitalโs toxic smog may come at a steep price. According to IIT Kanpur Director Manindra Agarwal, a full winter-long operation could cost around Rs 25 crore, a sum he described as โnot very substantialโ compared to Delhiโs overall pollution control budget, but still significant for a stop-gap measure.

โMy back-of-the-envelope calculation is that for continuous seeding through an entire winter season, the cost will be Rs 25 crore or thereabouts,โ Agarwal told India Today TV.
