The Delhi governmentโ€™s ambitious cloud seeding experiment to trigger artificial rain and wash away the capitalโ€™s toxic smog may come at a steep price. According to IIT Kanpur Director Manindra Agarwal, a full winter-long operation could cost around Rs 25 crore, a sum he described as โ€œnot very substantialโ€ compared to Delhiโ€™s overall pollution control budget, but still significant for a stop-gap measure.

โ€œMy back-of-the-envelope calculation is that for continuous seeding through an entire winter season, the cost will be Rs 25 crore or thereabouts,โ€ Agarwal told India Today TV.
