The centuries-old Pushkar livestock fair, once famed for its grand caravans of camels and bullocks, is witnessing a striking transformation. The number of camels arriving for trade has continued to drop sharply, while horses now dominate the fairground, their count crossing 4,000 this year.
Officials say the decline began after restrictions were imposed on transporting camels outside Rajasthan.
