A child custody dispute has turned into a diplomatic tangle after a Russian-origin woman, Victoria Basu, fled India with her Indian citizen child. The Supreme Court on Friday expressed concern over the matter and questioned the Centre on the slow progress in locating the child and pressed for stronger steps through diplomatic and legal channels.
The court also expressed concerns that the case might impact the relations between India and Russia.
