On October 30, at a special event marking the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at the Statue of Unity at Kevadia in Gujarat, for the first time, the immediate bloodline of India’s ‘Iron Man’ made a public attendance at the celebrations.
Sardar Patel’s only living grandson, Gautam Dahyabhai Patel, aged around 80 years, his wife Dr Nandita Patel (79), their son Kedar Gautam Patel (47), daughter-in-law Reena (47) and granddaughter Karina (13) travelled from the United States to join the homage event, as well as the ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ parade held in Kevadia on October 31.
