In a way a Sony XM headphone, or earbuds for that matter, set the benchmark for ANC performance. As a tech reviewer, every time I get my hands on new headphones, I find myself comparing them with Sonyβs WH-1000XM range. Now Sony has introduced the latest and the most advanced headphones of this flagship lineup β the WH-1000XM6. It lives up to its storied legacy and heritage.

With its new flagship headphone, Sony is not bringing tweaks. Instead, it is introducing significant hardware changes. The XM6 features the new QN3 Noise Cancelling chip which, according to the company, processes sound several times faster than the XM5. XM6 uses 12 microphones (up from 8 in the previous model) to improve noise detection and Sony has also brought back the foldable mechanism with XM6, along with giving the headphone a more compact case with magnetic closure.
Iβve been using the Sony WH-1000XM6 for over a month now, and not a single day has gone by without me appreciating them. The sound quality is really really good β will not call it the best (more on that in a bit) β the ANC is outstanding, and these cans are extremely lightweight and comfortable to wear.
