South Korean President Lee Jae-myung held a summit meeting with Chinese leader Xi Jinping on November 1. It was the first bilateral summit meeting between the two leaders since Lee assumed the presidency in June. Xi was in South Korea to attend the APEC Summit.

“The mutually complementary cooperative relationship that South Korea and China have developed over the past 30 years or more has greatly contributed to China’s emergence as the world’s second-largest economy and South Korea’s leap into a developed nation with global industrial competitiveness,” Lee said during his address at the summit.
