Earlier this month, Malaysia’s Education Ministry unveiled a bold set of reforms for the sector. The headline announcement was that every classroom will get two teachers. Deputy Education Minister Wong Kah Woh later clarified that “team-teaching” will only be implemented for the two new integrated learning subjects under the 2027 school curriculum. That’s unfortunate, for it’s too conservative and overly ambitious at the same time.
