The family of a Perth man identified as a possible victim of the Optus Triple Zero outage say authorities have left them in the dark about the circumstances surrounding his death.

The ABC understands Christopher Oliver, 49, was one of two West Australians whose deaths were tied by authorities to a 13-hour network failure in September which left hundreds of people across the country unable to call emergency services.

But Mr Oliver's relatives claim that link has never been explained to them and they have received little information since.

"I want to be able to put my brother to rest and continue to grieve without having to keep asking so many questions and make so many phone calls," Mr Oliver's sister Sarah said.

"This has still affected us for two months now."
