The Moody Blues vocalist John Lodge has died "suddenly and unexpectedly", aged 82, his family have confirmed. The bass player and "massive-hearted man" joined the band in 1966 with fellow singer Justin Hayward, following the departure of Denny Laine and Clint Warwick.
