Six of the political parties standing in the Caerphilly by-election to win a seat at the Senedd went head-to-head in a passionate and rowdy BBC Wales television debate on Wednesday evening. Labour's Richard Tunnicliffe, Conservative Gareth Potter, Plaid Cymru's Lindsay Whittle, Reform's Llลทr Powell, Liberal Democrat Steve Aicheler and the Green Party's Gareth Hughes took questions from an audience of 80 people at Bedwas Workmen's Hall and Institute. You can see the profiles and policies of all eight candidates here. The by-election, on 23 October, follows the sudden death of Labour Member of the Senedd (MS) Hefin David in August.
The winner will represent Caerphilly in Cardiff Bay for about six months, until all of Wales can vote in next May's Senedd election.
