CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu’s Private Universities (Amendment) Bill 2025 is set for review following protests from political parties, the Association of University Teachers (AUT), and public concern. The Bill, initially passed on October 17, seeks to simplify procedures for establishing new private universities, allow existing colleges to convert into Brownfield universities, and introduce minority private universities under Article 30.
