The Supreme Court on Wednesday (October 29, 2025) allowed Gitanjali J. Angmo to amend her petition and launch a sharper, updated attack against the Centre for detaining her husband and climate activist Sonam Wangchuk under the national security law.

Mr. Wangchuk was detained under the National Security Act (NSA), 1980 following violent protests on September 24 in Leh. He was detained on September 26 and shifted to the Jodhpur Central Jail in Rajasthan.

A Bench of Justices Aravind Kumar and N.V. Anjaria allowed Ms. Angmo’s application to file additional grounds highlighting “grave and incurable lapses” committed by the Centre during Mr.
