Forest Minister Eshwar Khandre has ordered an inquiry into the death of wild elephants in Belagavi district. Two wild elephants were found electrocuted in the Nagargali forest range in Khanapur taluk on Monday.

A note issued by the Minister has instructed Prabash Chandra Ray, the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife and Chief Wildlife Warden), to conduct an inquiry and obtain a report in five days.
