Ireland needs to be prepared for “the realities and challenges of an ageing population”, Alone’s chief executive has said.

As the charity for older people released its annual report on Wednesday, Seán Moynihan said “the UN estimates that by 2050, 2.1 billion of us will be over 60 years old.
