Over the last few years, as the Karnataka government and the Centre chase corporations to woo investments, labour movement seems to have suffered in the neo liberal economic era. Painstakingly gained over a century through struggles, the labour rights have suffered. In the light of the Centre publishing the draft National Labour Policy or Shram Shakti Niti-2025 in October. The Hindu spoke to All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) general secretary Amarjeet Kaur on matters concerning labour at both the State and the national level during her visit to Bengaluru.
