The US Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff has praised the "incredible input and tireless efforts" of the UK's National Security Adviser Jonathan Powell in bringing about the ceasefire in Gaza. In a social media post, Witkoff also said he wanted to "acknowledge the vital role of the UK in assisting and coordinating efforts that have led us to this historic day in Israel".
