The State of Tamil Nadu will never accept the Centrally-sponsored Prime Minister’s School for Rising India (PM SHRI) scheme, which is part of the Union Government’s “backward” New Education Policy, Assembly Speaker M. Appavu has said.

During informal chat with the reporters here on Tuesday after inaugurating the inter-school cultural competitions being organised by the Department of School Education, Mr. Appavu, while responding to the question on Kerala Government’s decision to accept the PM SHRI scheme, said the Centre, which would adopt a well-equipped government school in every district, would introduce this programm
