In his first reaction after being sentenced to death by Bangladeshβs International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) on Monday, former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said that the verdict was βexpectedβ and alleged the court was created solely to βfinish Awami League leadershipβ and erase the legacy of the countryβs Liberation War.
Kamal, along with former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and several Awami League leaders, was convicted by the tribunal on charges of crimes against humanity.
