The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) extended the filing deadline for taxpayers by one day, from September 15 to September 16.
Now, more than two months later, many individuals are still waiting for their income tax refunds for the Assessment Year 2025–26.
According to the Income Tax Department, more than 7.57 crore returns were filed by September 23, yet refunds for many taxpayers remain pending.
