It's that time of year for food, family and reminiscing about picture books.

FRANK MORRISON: Oh, we grew up way...

CAROLE BOSTON WEATHERFORD: Frank, I've lost...

MORRISON: ...Back in the day, right?

WEATHERFORD: I've lost count, Frank. I'm not sure whether this is the fifth or the sixth book together.

RASCOE: For our series Picture This, author Carole Boston Weatherford and illustrator Frank Morrison talk about their sixth picture book together, "Family Feast!"

WEATHERFORD: So I'd like to think we're a winning combination. Of course, it's all because of me but...

MORRISON: Oh, of course.

WEATHERFORD: (Laughter).

MORRISON: Of course. You - the challenges - I got to keep up with your words. You know, you always keep me on my game when I'm working on your books. You keep me on game.

WEATHERFORD: It started with "The Roots Of Rap," and I think we were paired because Frank has a unique history in the hip-hop industry.

MORRISON: Way back in the day, back in those things they call the '80s - whoo - we used to breakdance. I started hip-hop dancing, and then I started club dancing. And while I was club dancing, I was introduced to a lady named Sybil, and Sybil took me on tour.
