The Bombay High Court on Monday dismissed a petition by the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA), led by Prakash Ambedkar, seeking exclusive allotment of the “gas cylinder’’ symbol for the upcoming local body elections in Maharashtra.
A bench of Chief Justice Shree Chandrashekhar and Justice Gautam A Ankhad first asked why the VBA had approached the court with an election petition instead of a writ petition.
