Dubai is intensifying efforts to further develop its quality education system.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, said plans for the education sector in the emirate will mould a generation of globally competitive Emiratis.

He spoke as he toured the Dubai Schools – Al Khawaneej campus to review measures taken to enhance the emirate's standing as an education hub, the Dubai Government Media Office reported on Friday.

β€œWe are advancing the educational system in Dubai – not merely keeping pace with the future but shaping it,” Sheikh Hamdan said.

β€œStrengthening identity and values whilst meeting future aspirations, this system represents an incubator for tomorrow’s leaders and innovation pioneers while also serving as a platform for moulding an Emirati generation aware of its national responsibilities and equipped with the skills to be globally competitive.”

Quality education that empowers children contributes to building a society and economy defined by knowledge and creativity, he added.

β€œThe public-private partnership model for Dubai Schools reinforces our vision that developing human capital outweighs infrastructure targets.”

Sheikh Hamdan also reviewed the β€œinvestment trajectory of the Dubai Schools initiative”. Total investment grew from Dh62 million in 2021 to Dh1 billion in 2025 and is expected to reach Dh4 billion by 2033.

An example of the commitment to growing the education sector in Dubai was offered last month when Sheikh Hamdan approved plans to build 60 new affordable schools to serve 120,000 pupils by 2033.
