For more, we're joined now by FCC Commissioner Anna M. Gomez. She was appointed to the commission in 2023 by then President Joe Biden. And on Wednesday, she testified along with her colleagues before the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation. Commissioner Gomez, welcome to the program.
ANNA M GOMEZ: Oh, thank you. It's good to be with you.
FADEL: We heard Brendan Carr, the chair of the FCC, say that in fact, it wasn't President Trump but President Biden that chilled free speech. And this administration and him are just correcting it. What do you make of those comments?
GOMEZ: I think that's a false equivalency. What you have not seen from the last administration was you didn't see the FCC use its licensing authority in order to affect the content of the broadcasters.
