Sanju Samson’s road to the Indian side was anything but straightforward. His career arc reads like a classic Mohanlal film — never linear, never handed on promise alone, but shaped by resilience, restraint, and the occasional turn of fate.
He showed glimpses of exceptional talent well before turning 20. His father, Viswanath Samson, then a police constable in Delhi, was among the first to notice his promise. But with limited opportunities in the capital, the family moved back to Kerala to give Sanju a better chance to develop — a theme of seeking the right stage that would recur throughout his career. After making waves in the state, he was quickly scouted and roped into the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2009.
