Lionel Messi's visit to India had everyone buzzing, and while fan excitement was evident since the time it was announced it also brought in plenty of buzz among the sports journalism fraternity in the country.
After all, few would have ever had a chance to see Messi live and in the flesh and this was a rare once-in-a-lifetime chance to see the man many believe is the greatest football player the world has ever seen.

I was fortunate enough to be among the media representatives selected and here's a few diary notes from what was a fun, busy and chaotic day all rolled into one!
An early start
As fate would have it, Messi's Delhi visit was preceded by a cricket match - the India vs South Africa 3rd T20I was on Sunday, which meant a potentially sleepless night awaited me.
