President Sheikh Mohamed arrived in Pakistan on Friday on an official visit to the country.

He was received at Nur Khan military base in Islamabad by Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Pakistan, and a number of ministers and senior officials, state news agency Wam reported.

The plane carrying Sheikh Mohamed was accompanied by a squadron of military aircraft as it entered Pakistani airspace. He was given an official reception ceremony in which the national anthems of both countries were played, a 21-gun salute was fired and a guard of honour stood to salute him.

The military band and heritage groups also performed, while groups of children waved the flags of both countries.
