An unrepentant and high-risk convicted rapist put a razor blade in his mouth in a bid to stop prison officers moving him to a different unit.
A senior prison officer and a negotiator spent about four hours trying to reason with the man before giving him a formal order to hand over the blade or face disciplinary charges.
Kane Graham Dawson, 44, then told them he couldn't comply with the order because he had swallowed the blade.
Court documents show it was not the first time Dawson had used the razor blade ploy to try to get his way during his 14-year prison sentence for raping two teenage girls.
