The international community must recognise it is operating in a β€œchanged world” in which β€œhard power” is increasingly being used to achieve national aims, a senior British government figure has said.

Pat McFadden, a cabinet minister close to Prime Minister Keir Starmer, said that America’s actions in Venezuela, seizing an oil tanker with UK help and its belligerent attitude to Greenland should be viewed as part of a new global reality.
