The Syrian army said on Saturday it had completed a full “sweep” of the Sheikh Maqsoud district of Aleppo after a night of intense fighting with the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces.
Sporadic explosions and gunfire rocked Aleppo in the afternoon amid reports that said a handful of Kurdish militants were still in Sheikh Maqsoud, state news agency Sana reported.
