This Sankranthi turned out to be an unexpected season for family entertainers. Instead of the usual barrage of mass masala action films, Telugu cinema saw a line-up dominated by domestic dramas and light-hearted comedies.
From Chiranjeevi to Prabhas to Naveen Polishetty, almost every major release leaned into the family space. While it initially felt like a trend triggered by last yearβs success of Sankranthiki Vasthunnam, the results have been surprisingly encouraging. Except for The Raja Saab, most films have found appreciation.
