Police in Kerala's Kozhikode, have detained a 35-year-old woman, Shimjitha Musthafa, in connection with the suicide of a 42-year-old local resident, Deepak U, after a video she posted online accusing him of sexual misconduct went viral and triggered intense public scrutiny.
The detention follows widespread public outcry and a preliminary investigation into whether the online accusations and the subsequent cyber harassment contributed to Deepak’s death.
