The Bengaluru Traffic Police (BTP) collected a whopping βΉ258.16 crore in fines in 2025, the highest amount in the last decade, largely attributed to the 50% rebate scheme that was offered twice during the year. However, neither the police nor activist groups are in favour of the scheme, arguing that such concessions have an indirect negative impact on road safety in the long run.
According to the data, BTPβs fine collection rose by 204.03% to βΉ258.16 crore in 2025, from βΉ84.91 crore in 2024.
