The Bengaluru Traffic Police (BTP) collected a whopping ₹258.16 crore in fines in 2025, the highest amount in the last decade, largely attributed to the 50% rebate scheme that was offered twice during the year. However, neither the police nor activist groups are in favour of the scheme, arguing that such concessions have an indirect negative impact on road safety in the long run.
According to the data, BTP’s fine collection rose by 204.03% to ₹258.16 crore in 2025, from ₹84.91 crore in 2024.
