Alex Pretti, the 37-year-old man killed by US federal immigration agents, worked as a nurse treating sick veterans, according to family, friends and colleagues - a reflection of his deep desire to help others, they said.
Pretti worked as an Intensive Care Unit nurse at the Minneapolis Veterans Affairs Medical Centre for around five years, according to a co-worker who asked to speak anonymously.
