India is preparing to take a major leap in infrastructure development with plans for its first-ever offshore airport at Vadhavan, along the coast of Palghar district in Maharashtra. Once completed, the airport is expected to handle up to 90 million passengers every year, easing pressure on existing airports in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
