Stock prices in London closed higher on Monday, as pressure continues to mount on the Prime Minister after the Scottish Labour leader called for his resignation.
The FTSE 100 index closed up 16.48 points, or 0.2%, at 10,386.23. The FTSE 250 ended up 132.14 points, or 0.6%, at 23,340.03, and the AIM all-share closed up 10.24 points, 1.3%, at 817.04.
The leader of Scottish Labour, Anas Sarwar, has said Sir Keir Starmer should quit, in a blow to the Prime Ministerβs fragile authority.
Mr Sarwar used a press conference to call for Sir Keir to resign as the Prime Minister battles to remain in No 10 following the scandal surrounding Lord Peter Mandelsonβs appointment to Washington as British ambassador, despite his links to Jeffrey Epstein being known.
