Jeffrey Epstein, although highly intelligent and resourceful person with formidable cognitive agility, was a convicted sex offender. He pleaded guilty in 2008 to Florida state charges of soliciting a minor for prostitution. Later, he was indicted in 2019 on federal charges for sex trafficking of minors in New York and Florida. He died allegedly by suicide in a Manhattan jail cell in August 2019, while awaiting trial.
