Three national cultural institutions are struggling to pay their pension costs and have asked the Government to intervene.

The chairs of the boards of the National Library of Ireland, the National Museum of Ireland and the Irish Museum of Modern Art (Imma) said the situation is โ€œan issue of considerable concernโ€ which โ€œultimately impacts our capacity to deliver programmesโ€.
