Data centres are the first industry to take part in the pilot direct power purchase agreement scheme.

Among the energy projects aligned with the state's "Quick Big Win" policy is a direct power purchase agreement (PPA) scheme scheduled to take effect as soon as January 2026.

This pilot scheme, often known as a direct PPA, is not an initiative of Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, nor his predecessor Paetongtarn Shinawatra. The scheme was introduced by the Srettha Thavisin government in June 2024 as a way of boosting foreign investment in Thailand.
