It is no secret that OpenAI has been working on its own hardware for some time now. Earlier this year, the Sam Altman-led AI startup acquired io, the design startup created by former Apple chief designer Jony Ive, for $6.5 billion. Since then, Ive is said to be working on an AI-hardware device.
