Undeterred by domestic no-fly lists and stern warnings from foreign governments, thousands of Pakistanis have continued travelling to and attempting to travel abroad solely to beg. Recently, Saudi Arabia, which has two of Islam's holiest places, deported around 56,000 Pakistanis for begging. The data comes even as Pakistan's Federal Investigation Agency offloaded 66,154 passengers in 2025 to curb organised begging gangs from immigrating abroad, according to reports.
