It is that time of the year again. A new year, a new hope. A time for a reset. Literal in some cases, but figurative mostly. Whatever be the case, where you live or what you do, itβs an opportunity to reflect, introspect, and move forward no matter how good or bad the past year was because nothing is permanent. This too shall pass.

For a while now, general impression about smartphones has pivoted largely to one side, that they are no longer exciting. Rather, they are becoming more and more boring with each passing day. They look the same and they are all starting to feel the same too in more ways than one. Liquid glass has slowly but surely infiltrated almost every smartphone, regardless of brand or ambition. And so, the question on everybodyβs minds is, will 2026 be any different? Well, yes and no, but mostly no.
The iPhone-ification of design
Smartphones today, they all look the same. Except for foldables, every other βslabβ phone seems it is cut out of the same cloth. The main material is coming from Cupertino. Every other brand is simply rehashing it. Apparently, there was some high-level meeting we donβt know of where everyone decided, you get flat edges, you too get flat edges, and YOU...guess what...more flat edges.
