A performance audit by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) in 2019 on drinking water supplied to Indore and Bhopal by their municipal bodies had flagged the very reasons that have now led to the death of 10 people from consuming contaminated water in Indore.
The deaths occurred in Bhagirathpura locality, from where at least 200 more residents were hospitalised.
