The Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy has insisted that state governments across the federation urgently ban the use of wooden boats for commercial water transportation and instead invest in safer, modern fibre and aluminium boats.
The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Dr. Adegboyega Oyetola, made the call against the backdrop of recent tragic boat accidents, which claimed several lives and left many families in mourning.
