U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to impose tariffs of 200% on French wines and champagnes in an apparent effort to persuade French President Emmanuel Macron to join his Board of Peace initiative βaimed at resolving global conflicts.
Trump's initiative, which would start by βaddressing Gaza and then expand to deal with other conflicts, raises questions about the role of the U.N. and a source close to Macron said the French president intended to decline the invitation to join.
