US President Donald Trump opened his address by calling the Supreme Court’s ruling against his emergency tariffs “deeply disappointing,” after the court declared the measures illegal.
‘Ashamed’ of Justices
Trump said he was “ashamed” of the justices — including some he appointed — who voted to strike down his tariff regime.
“I’m ashamed of certain members of the court, absolutely ashamed, for not having the courage to do what’s right for our country,” he said. “They also are, frankly, a disgrace to our nation.”
The president’s remarks marked one of his strongest attacks yet on the court following the 6-3 decision that blocked his use of emergency powers to impose sweeping import duties.
