Iran and Lebanon-based Hezbollah, which is arguably the most powerful proxy of Tehran, launched a joint missile attack on Israel on Wednesday, firing more than 100 rockets, according to various media reports.

The attacks reportedly set off sirens in northern Israel, including in Haifa and Acre and several other cities, as residents rushed to shelters.

Meanwhile, dozens of explosions lit up the sky north of the Israeli city of Nazareth as Israel's missile defence system intercepted rockets from Lebanon.
